Brothers and Sisters:
What if everyone watching the NFL Super Bowl gave one dollar or food item to #TackleHunger and Poverty in America?
Sometimes, it’s easy to forget that not everyone has access to the same quantity and diversity of food as we do. Let’s show Our Father in Heaven how grateful we are by helping neighbors in need!
Now through February 9, I invite you to participate in HUMC’s Souper Bowl of Caring project by donating a can (or 2!) of Low Sodium Soup to support the Hopewell Valley Mobile Food Pantry.
Please drop off your soup donations in the Church’s Missions Cabinet (in Fellowship Hall). Other collection bin(s) will be placed in and around the church.
On Feb. 2 and Feb. 9, the children of HUMC will have their soup pots ready to collect our monetary gifts for the Mobile Food Pantry after worship services.
You can also donate on the church website (https://hopewellmethodist.org/) by going to the tab at the top of the home page marked Giving. Click on “Souper Bowl of Caring”. Checks can be made payable to: Hopewell United Methodist Church.
What is the nationwide Souper Bowl of Caring™ campaign?
Souper Bowl of Caring uses the energy around our nation’s largest sporting event to mobilize and inspire youth to fight hunger and poverty. Students develop stronger connections to their communities as they collect food and/or raise money for charities that provide shelter to the homeless, food to the hungry and compassion to those in need.
Any questions, please feel free to contact Jennifer at jennifer.vondran@gmail.com or 856.296.0836.
Thank you for your support!

Book Talk
January 21 – 7:30 PM on ZOOM

We will be discussing the book, The Wish Book Christmas by Lynn Austin
Fresh starts: English best friends now living in Connecticut, Audrey Barrett and Eve Dawson are looking forward to Christmas 1951 and starting new traditions with their five-year-old sons.
Toys, toys, toys: But when the Sears Christmas Wish Book arrives and the boys obsess over it, Audrey and Eve realize the kids need to learn about the real spirit of the holiday, including helping others.
Why you might like it: This charming, nostalgic novel features characters from If I Were You, highlights the meaning of the season, and shows hearts healing from the tragedies of war.
All are welcome to join in the discussion.
